Community Service at Amazing Place
Over the next three months the participants and staff here at Amazing Place will be working in support of a local non-profit organization, Barrio Dogs. Barrio Dogs is a growing, grassroots, non-profit organization with an emphasis on education and on raising awareness on proper animal care in our low income communities. Participants and staff will be conducting a doggie toy drive in an effort to provide Barrio Dogs with much needed supplies. Our doggie toy drive will kick off February 21st with a visit from some of those precious Barrio Therapy Dogs, including our very own Hap. Hap is Susan Giles's own Barrio Dog rescue. Aside from collecting supplies, our participants will be compiling education materials that Barrio Dogs will be handing out at Houston area schools during the Tales to Tails program. We will also be making homemade doggie treats, exercising & grooming visiting rescued dogs. You can learn more about Barrio Dogs by visiting barriodogs.org . All visiting dogs will have current shot records.
